John Price is an avid climber and photographer. After quitting a desk job working in IT in 2009, he moved to New Zealand to study Adventure Recreation. During this course he discovered climbing and it has since become his main passion and drive in life. After being displaced by the earthquake that shook Christchurch in 2011 he decided it was time to expand his climbing ability and realized the Canadian Rockies was the perfect place to cut his teeth and gain the skills he needed to grow as an alpinist.
Over the last three years John has been actively climbing and photographing rock, ice and alpine ascents throughout North America, including the deserts of Nevada, the Ruth Gorge in Alaska and throughout the Canadian Rockies. John’s most recent expedition to Nepal was to attempt an unclimbed mountain called Anidesha Chuli
(6900m).
His work can be found at http://www.johnpricephotographics.com and his images have been featured in: Rock & Ice Magazine, Canberra Times, Gripped Climbing and others.
